Cameron Carlton Key (b. Dec. 7, 1999) is a preferred walk-on defensive back from Bishop Miege High School in Overland Park who is majoring in physics.
He redshirted in 2018 and earned the program’s Overachiever Award as the top freshman in strength and conditioning, but did not see any game action in 2019.
A three-year letter-winner at Bishop Miege under head coach Jon Holmes, Key was named a 2017 first-team all-state performer by the Kansas Football Coaches Association, The Topeka Capital-Journal and The Wichita Eagle, which also named him honorable mention in 2016.
He combined for 197 tackles, six interceptions and 40 pass breakups during his high school career, including 57 stops and 11 pass breakups as a senior.
Key also returned punts in 2017, totaling 296 yards and two touchdowns, and prepped with current Wildcats Taylor Poitier and Landry Weber.
