Texas Tech v Kansas State
It’s difficult to overstate how impressive Deuce Vaughn has been thus far in his true freshman season.

Kansas State plays Kansas on Saturday and when we recorded this podcast with former All-American center Nick Leckey on Sunday night, the day before Pooka Williams opted out of the season for family reasons, so there is a small part of this that is no longer relevant. However, we mostly ignored the Jayhawks to focus on the Wildcats and how they’ve reeled off an unlikely three-game win streak after a disappointing opener.

Unsurprisingly, Nick has been very pleased with K-State’s line play on both sides of the ball, and we discussed the value of the offense’s two biggest additions, Deuce Vaughn and Briley Moore. Nick offered some thoughts on how COVID-19 restrictions may have affected Kansas State and other teams, as well as why he believes Chris Klieman will soon be competing for Big 12 titles. Also, Tye had some things to say about kickers.

Be sure to check out Nick and BJ Kissel’s podcast Outside the Trenches for a unique perspective on the Kansas City Chiefs and you should definitely follow Nick on Twitter @mrleckey.
