38 DAYS TO 2019 KICKOFF: Thomas Grayson

In which BracketCat counts down the 38th day until the 2019 kickoff with a profile of Kansas State running back Thomas Grayson.

#38 Winston Dimel
Though he might end up wearing the same number as departed fullback Winston Dimel (38), Thomas Grayson is an entirely different sort of running back, to say the least.

Thomas Grayson (b. Nov. 11, 2000) is a speedy, talented running back prospect from Booker T. Washington High School (alma mater of the Lockett family!) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Grayson, who probably is likely to redshirt in 2019 despite our lack of experienced halfback depth, played for the Hornets under head coach Brad Calip.

He was viewed as the 73rd-best running back in the Class of 2019 by 247Sports, while ESPN ranked him 81st. He ranks 14th in the state of Oklahoma by 247Sports and 16th by ESPN.

Grayson rushed for 2,422 yards and 28 touchdowns during his prep career, which included consecutive 1,000-yard seasons as both a junior and senior.

An honorable mention all-state pick as a both a junior and senior by The Tulsa World, he helped Booker T. Washington to earn a 12-1 record in 2017, which culminated with an Oklahoma Class 6A-II state championship.

Grayson, whose primary recruiter was new running backs coach Brian Anderson, chose K-State over offers from Arkansas State, BYU, Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Houston, Iowa State, Nebraska, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas Tech and Tulsa, as well as interest from Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. He previously was committed to both Nebraska and Tulsa.
