NCAA Football: Division I Football Championship-Eastern Washington vs North Dakota State
Do we really have to wait almost four more months to see this guy on the sideline in Manhattan?
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

KC Star/Wichita Eagle reporter Kellis Robinett is approaching his 10th anniversary on the Kansas State beat, so there’s no one better to fill us in on what’s been happening during the slow season as we await Chris Klieman’s first football season in Manhattan. JT VanGilder also joined us to first discuss basketball recruiting, which is now a bit dated since K-State signed juco point guard David Sloan and Maize senior Caleb Grill chose Iowa State in a bit of a surprise.

The second half of the podcast focuses on football, as Kellis and JT break down what we learned from the spring game and how Kansas State can shore up some of its weaknesses heading into the fall. There are still some strengths, too, particularly on both sides of the line, and of course barring disaster we won’t be worried about any sort of quarterback controversy. So that’s nice.

Be sure to check out Kellis’s work at kansas.com or kansascity.com, where a sports-only subscription is just $30 per year. That’s a great deal, even if all you care about is the Wildcats. You can also follow Kellis on Twitter @kellisrobinett.
