Kansas State vs Pittsburgh: Open Game Thread

The Wildcats and Panthers tangle in Fort Myers, FL for the chance at a non-conference tournament crown

Well, the Wildcats are 4-0 to start the season. That’s nice.

The defense has been good/great through the first four games, but the offense has been absolutely putrid. It’s not been fun basketball to watch, but it’s been effective enough to win games so far.

But the Wildcats face a much bigger test tonight. Pittsburgh is up, and while the Panthers aren’t exactly world-beaters (and have already dropped two contests this season), they at least should put up more of a challenge than Monmouth or UAPB, which could be a problem for a squad that needed overtime to put away UNLV a few weeks ago.

This is the semifinal round of the Fort Myers Tipoff, so the winner advances tot he championship game versus the winner of Bradley and Northwestern later tonight, while the loser is resigned to the consolation game. Last year’s Wildcats won their non-conference tournament, let’s hope they can make it two in a row.

But first things first, lets just win get a win tonight. Please.

Tonight’s game, scheduled for a 5:00pm CST tip, can be see on terrestrial TV via FS1 with Brandon Gaudin (play-by-play) and Bill Raftery (analyst) on the call.
