Apparently you get a fine for storming the field at K-State and TCU, but not at KU. Also notes from football and recapping last nights basketball win.

Drew Schneider stepped up to recap last night’s Wildcat victory over Washburn in Kansas State’s final exhibition game of the season.

Barry Tramel likes to use a different method to evaluate teams. He looks at scoring efficiency on both offense and defense. And based on that evaluation Saturdays upset of OU might have been an even bigger upset than it appears at first glance. -Barry Tramel, The Oklahoman.

Bowl projections for Kansas State are all over the map ranging from the Alamo Bowl to the Cheez-it Bowl. -Riley Gates,

K-State’s offense looked much like it did during the first 3 games of the season during the OU game and that can be attributed in-part to the return of running back Jordan Brown. -Kellis Robinett, KC Star

Welp. TB’s apology article proved somewhat prophetic as the Big 12 conference reprimanded and fined Kansas State following students storming the field after last week’s upset over OU. TCU was also fined and reprimanded for their field storming against Texas. The Big 12 also saw fit to reprimand KU but felt a fine would be a step to far...after all when only hundreds of people instead of thousands storm the field can it really be considered an unsafe environment? -Greg Rahe,

It’s been a long and winding road for Skylar Thompson. One year ago the junior QB was considering a transfer to start somewhere fresh. Now he’s on top of the world having just knocked off a fifth ranked OU team. -Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle

In case you need more info from last nights’ scrappy exhibition game, Ryan Black at the Mercury takes you through his recap. -Ryan Black, Manhattan Mercury
