Bring on the PodCats with ODB’s Matt Wilson

One of our favorite recurring guests makes another appearance to discuss some of Baylor’s scary offensive weapons, a rare competent defense in Waco, and the reasons he believes in Matt Rhule.

Can Kansas State’s secondary stop Denzel Mims? I’m a little concerned.

Baylor is visiting Bill Snyder Family Stadium this weekend, so if you’re a regular podcast listener you’ll know that means the always entertaining Matt Wilson from Our Daily Bears is back with Derek and I once again. As usual, he’s very optimistic about Baylor, and to be fair, they are undefeated so perhaps it’s a bit more warranted than usual.

But this should be the Bears’ toughest test if K-State can remember how to stop the run and figure out how to stop Denzel Mims from catching pass, which Matt reminds us is quite difficult. He’s also very high on QB Charlie Brewer and his ability to thrive in this offense. Surprisingly, what’s really making these Bears tick is a rather impressive defense, so Matt tried to tell us how that’s possible. It feels kind of like Kansas State throwing to tight ends.

Finally, since we recorded this on Monday (prior to the sad John Holcombe news) we discussed the big topics of the day, new Kansas State uniforms and Matt Rhule’s extension through 2027. Don’t forget to read things on Our Daily Bears and follow Matt on Twitter @mattisbear.

We’re now a part of the SB Nation podcast network, so we hope you can handle a couple advertisements. If you enjoy listening to Bring on the PodCats, don’t forget it’s available on iTunes (search Bring on the PodCats). Check it out, subscribe and review. We would appreciate it.
