SLate: Thursday football notes

It’s an all football slate!

NCAA Football: Mississippi State at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

It’s late slate Thursday here at Bring on the Cats, so let’s not waste anymore time.

Our newest staffer, Drew, continued his great film breakdown this week with a focus on the offense.

He followed that with his debut appearance on Bring on the PodCats where he was joined by Luke Thompson and JT VanGilder for some great UTSA football talk.

You would think with a late there would be a bunch to talk about, but not today apparently. First up is a film breakdown from our favorite K-State beat writer, Kellis Robinett. Robinett broke down one of, if not the worst defense play by Kansas State during the Mississippi State game. The busted 3-17 coverage which allowed the bulldogs to move the chains when the game was still tied 3-3.

We’ll finish off today’s slate with a couple of stories on the much maligned offensive line. Saturday’s game against UTSA should give the line a chance to right the ship after sub-par performances in game one and two. (Cody Friesen, The Collegian)

While the line overall hasn’t been great, Dalton Risner has been fantastic. He battled future NFL pass-rusher Montez Sweat last week, and more than held his own. (Chris Trapasso, CBSSports)
