Dylan Scott Wentzel (b. June 3, 1998) walked on from Salina High School Central as a running back, but redshirted in 2017 and converted to wide receiver during the offseason.
His only statistical note from the 2018 spring game was a dropped pass from fourth- or fifth-string quarterback Ryan Henington as a member of the White squad.
Wentzel played for the Mustangs under head coach Mike Hall.
He was a two-time all-district honoree who also played basketball, a state qualifier in track and field, the student council president, and an all-state academic performer.
Both of Wentzel’s parents attended K-State and he plans on majoring in biochemistry with the hope of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.
