Ian Nordell (b. May 13, 1998) is a preferred walk-on defensive end who redshirted in 2017.
He had one solo tackle for the Purple team in the 2018 spring game. I think he eventually could develop into a special teams contributor.
A four-year letter-winner at Concordia High School under head coaches Tim Lambert and Austin Kingsberry, Nordell picked up all-state honors at linebacker from The Topeka Capital-Journal as both a junior and senior, while he was honored by The Wichita Eagle as a junior.
He set the school’s single-season record with 23 tackles for loss as a junior, while he ranks second in career tackles.
Nordell also lettered four years in baseball and basketball, picking up all-state honors in both sports. He is majoring in secondary education.
