Evan William Curl (b. March 20, 1997) is a talented young offensive lineman who used a redshirt season in 2015 and played sparingly in each of the last two seasons.
He has developed over the last three years and looks to break into the rotation as a junior.
Curl played sparingly for the White team in the 2016 spring game, and started for White in both the 2017 and 2018 spring games. I’m projecting him as the third-string right tackle.
He played against Florida Atlantic in 2016, then played in three games in 2017, seeing time against Central Arkansas, Charlotte and UCLA in the Cactus Bowl.
Curl also was a first-team Academic All-Big 12 performer last season.
He lettered two years under head coach Dane Johnson for Flower Mound High School, where he predominantly played left tackle for the Jaguars.
A second-team All-District 6-6A performer as both a junior and senior, Curl earned second-team academic all-state honors and was a team captain as a senior in 2014.
He also wrestled, finishing third in district play in the heavyweight division.
Curl is an Eagle Scout who is majoring in mechanical engineering and picked K-State over offers from California, North Texas, and Oklahoma State.
