Kenneth Greggory “Trey” Dishon III (b. May 18, 1997) is a powerful defensive tackle who who has started all 25 career games he has played in his first two active seasons. He will look to develop further as an upperclassman and maintain his starting spot in 2018.

After redshirting in 2015, Dishon saw action in 12 games — all starts — in 2016 as he became the first freshman to start in the interior of the defensive line under Bill Snyder since 2005. He totaled 18 tackles, including four tackles for loss and three sacks.

Dishon had 3.5 tackles for loss and three sacks during a two-game stretch against Baylor and Kansas, including a then-career-high two sacks against the Jayhawks. He set a then-career high with three tackles at Oklahoma, a mark he equaled against Kansas.

Dishon also had two stops each against Iowa State, Baylor and Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl.

He recorded a pass breakup and a forced fumble during his rookie campaign, which culminated in his earning Big 12 Conference All-Freshman accolades from Athlon.

Dishon started all 13 games he played in 2017, finishing the year with 21 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack en route to honorable mention All-Big 12 accolades from the league’s coaches. He also batted away three passes.

Dishon set a new career high with four tackles against TCU, while he had three in the season opener against Central Arkansas. He also tied his career best with two tackles for loss at Oklahoma State, including a sack, and was a second-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.

A four-year letter-winner at Horton High School under head coach Nick Dowell, Dishon helped to lead the Chargers to a 7-2 record and an appearance in the state playoffs.

An All-Kansas Class 3A selection by The Topeka Capital-Journal and The Wichita Eagle, he also earned honorable mention all-state honors in 2013, as well as first-team all-league honors as a defensive lineman, tight end and kicker.

Dishon was selected to play in the 2015 Kansas Shrine Bowl. He also lettered in basketball, earning all-state honors; track and field; and powerlifting, winning the 2013 Class 3A Championship for the 242-pound weight class.

Dishon was overlooked by most major colleges and was set to commit to Northwest Missouri State of the MIAA. His only other offers were from Pittsburg State, a NAIA school and a junior college.

But K-State really liked his versatility, and it has paid off.
