Your Kansas State Wildcats have had a week off to rest, practice, and get back into the swing of academic things after being out of school for a week and a few days thanks to their tournament and then the subsequent Thanksgiving holiday.
It’s been an odd week off too, as will next week, and the Wildcats will go three weeks without having a mid-week game; which is pretty astounding really. Let’s hope it works to keep the Cats healthy, and not let them get bored and slip up against someone they shouldn’t.
But today will require the Wildcats full focus. The Marquette Golden Eagles are a perennial tournament team, and tend to linger in the top-half of a loaded Big East conference; including being picked to finish second in the conference this season. Marquette enters today’s game at 5-2, and are currently un-ranked after starting the season in the bottom of the Top 25, but their status is a bit mis-leading. The Eagles have only lost at Indiana, and in New York to #2 Kansas, and have picked up a win over Louisville and some team from Maryland-Baltimore County.
The Wildcats have the talent and skill to win this game, but will need to play hard for a full 40 minutes to return to Manhattan with the victory. If you want a bit more insight into today’s contest, be sure and check out this week’s edition of Bring on the PodCats.
Today’s game, scheduled for a 1:30pm start time from Milwaukee, WI, will be available nationally on FS1 with Jeff Levering (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) on the call. You should also be able to access the game on the FoxSportsGo app.
You will also be able to listen to live audio across much of the K-State Sports Network with with Wyatt Thompson (play-by-play) and Stan Weber (analyst) calling the action. The game will also be available streaming for free online via the TuneIn app/TuneIn.com and at www.kstatesports.com/watch. Satellite coverage is also available at Sirius 135 / XM 207 / Internet 963. Live stats are available at k-statesports.com, and Twitter updates (@KStateMBB) will also be a part of the coverage from K-State Athletics
