It wasn’t pretty, but Kansas State is 2-0 and there’s no reason to worry about Kansas State basketball just yet. At least that’s the conclusion Eric Rubbottom and I came to while acknowledging the shooting and the halfcourt offense in general needs to get better in a hurry. The competition will go up a notch at the Paradise Jam this weekend, so hopefully the Wildcats will be able to raise their level accordingly.
Fortunately, as Eric reminds us, this team has all the pieces to be great, starting with a proven leader in Barry Brown and another immensely talented player in fellow senior Dean Wade. Behind them, Eric is among the many who believe Xavier Sneed can be an ‘X’ factor, and there’s plenty of encouraging depth, including new big man Austin Trice. If he can just learn to make free throws....
Have a listen as we makes some predictions, look around the Big 12 and talk about the expectations for one of K-State’s most promising basketball teams in years. We also said a few words about football, but not much....
