Bring on the PodCats with Nick Leckey

Nick Leckey sees a realistic path to a bowl game this season and reasons to believe the Snyder succession plan won’t be too bumpy. We hope he’s right.

It was quite a relief to have some positive things to talk about with Nick Leckey following Kansas State’s convincing 31-12 win over Oklahoma State on Saturday. So after a quick lecture on “Cat Time,” we spent the first half of this podcast talking rehashing all aspects of the impressive performance, from Alex Barnes’ big day behind a dominating offensive line to Duke Shelley’s superb coverage and tackling to lead a confident defense.

From there we zoomed out to discuss what has been a somewhat turbulent season for the coaching staff, but Nick sees plenty of evidence things are starting to get a lot smoother. He’s also hopeful K-State’s long-term future is in good hands with Gene Taylor at the helm, but the former Wildcat All-American center doesn’t expect Bill Snyder to go anywhere in the short-term.

Don’t forget to follow Nick on Twitter at @mrleckey and we hope this podcast will help you get through the long bye week before we truly turn our focus to next Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. matchup with Oklahoma.
