Aidan Michael Murray (b. June 23, 1996) is a preferred walk-on defensive tackle who apparently sat out the 2015 season after graduating from high school that year. It will be credited to him as a redshirt, not a deferred enrollment. He did not play in 2016.
He played at Southeast Saline High School under head coach Mitch Gebhardt and helped the Trojans to earn a 36-11 record over his four years, including 10-2 records as a freshman and senior.
Murray, who earned first-team all-state honors on the defensive line as a junior and senior, led the state in sacks both seasons with 13 and 16, respectively. He subsequently was invited to play in the 2015 Kansas Shrine Bowl.
He also lettered three years in basketball and four years in track and field; was a state qualifier in the shot put three times; and was named to the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Academic All-State team after earning a 4.0 grade-point average.
Murray’s father, Mike, played football at Hutchinson Community College and both of his parents also attended K-State.
