The second-best bit of information for Kansas State tonight as they head into their match with the Stanford Cardinal is that this is not the Stanford of old. They bowed out early last year, and they’re very much beatable this year despite their seed.
The best bit of information, of course, is the location of the game. That, and all the rest of the things you need to know about tonight’s contest, follow:
The Game: The seventh-seeded Kansas State Wildcats (23-10) host the second-seeded Stanford Cardinal (29-5) in the second round of the 2017 NCAA Women’s Division I Tournament. This is only the second meeting ever between the two programs, Stanford having defeated the Wildcats 63-57 on November 30, 2002, at the Stanford Invitational. That win was Cardinal head coach Tara Vandeveer’s 400th career victory; the Hall of Famer has added 457 more in the intervening 15 years. However, K-State actually has a winning record against the Pac-12, posting a 46-44 record all-time.
Where: Bramlage Coliseum (12,528), Manhattan, Kan.
When: 5:35pm CT.
TV: ESPN2 in the local areas for both teams, but everywhere else will get their local games or UConn/Syracuse.
Radio: Select K-State Sports Network affiliates.
Streaming: WatchESPN.
