Kansas State vs Wake Forest: First Four Open Game Thread

It’s postseason tournament time!

NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Championship-Kansas State vs West Virginia Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Weeeeeeee’rrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeee baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack...

Well, mostly anyway. For the first time since the 2013-14 season the Kansas State Wildcats have earned an appearance in the NCAA Tournament, even if it’s one of the two play-in games.

K-State, an 11-seed, takes on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, also an 11-seed, tonight in hopes to make the round of 64 (aka “The First Round”) and a matchup with 6-seed Cincinnati.

Wake Forest is led by former Jayhawk, and bane of K-State, Danny Manning. Manning is currently 43-51 in his third season leading the Deacons, and in his fifth year of head coaching is looking to take his second team to the NCAA round of 64.

Our own Greg Woods has a full preview of the Wildcats and Demon Deacons to catch you all the way up on the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

We’re the second play-in game tonight, slated for an 8:10 pm CT tip, but starting at least 30 minutes following the first game. Tonight’s game is part of the expanded NCAA Tournament broadcasts and will be aired on truTV, with Brian Anderson (play-by-play), Clark Kellogg (analyst), and Lewis Johnson (reporter) on the call, and streaming may be available to you via NCAA March Madness Live. Audio, as always, is available on the K-State Sports Network with Wyatt Thompson (play-by-play) and Stan Weber (analyst) (streaming online at K-StateSports.com), with a national audio broadcast available on Westwood One Radio, Sirius 84/XM 84 and WestwoodOneSports.com, with Ted Emrich (play-by-play) and Austin Croshere (analyst) on the call.
