Bring on the PodCats with Trent Singer

Friend of the podcast and Southeast Missourian reporter Trent Singer explains why Saturday’s game against the Redhawks could be more entertaining than you think.

For students and others (including me!) Christmas vacation might start this Saturday, but if you can help it, don’t leave Manhattan before going to see the ‘Cats play their last home nonconference game against Southeast Missouri. Sure, the Redhawks aren’t the sexiest opponent, but the Southeast Missourian’s Trent Singer tells us they’ve still got some entertaining players, like leading scorer Denzel Mahoney. Plus, they’re heating up after a slow start to the season, so they’ll be ready to take advantage if Kansas State comes out cold once again.

Hopefully, though, the ‘Cats can correct some of the mistakes Eric talks about in this week’s podcast, notably the struggles to shoot with confidence in a 61-54 loss to Souutheast Missouri Tulsa. We’d also like to see the bench do a little more against the undersized Redhawks, who could be without two of their biggest post players. Trent also explains why you’ll see four players on the SEMO roster from Europe, but none from the Midwest, let alone Missouri.
