Yin, Yang. It seems like most of the time K-State and Texas Tech are prancing through the minefields of the Big 12 hand-in-hand, with their inevitable clash ultimately saving one team’s season while ruining the other.
But for all the similarities between the two schools, always remember: we have grass. And hills. And trees.
The game
Kansas State (4-4, 2-3 Big 12) visits the Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-4, 1-4 Big 12). Tech leads the all-time series, but a Wildcat win would even it at nine victories apiece. However, Tech’s 9-8 edge includes four wins over K-State before the arrival of Bill Snyder, and you can do the math from there. Snyder is 3-1 against the hairdo.
Odds
Tech opened as a three-point favorite, and that’s where the line still sits. The over is 63.5, so Vegas is looking at a 33-30 shootout or thereabouts. OddsShark predicts K-State will win outright, and that the over is doomed; they’re giving Tech their 33 (well, 32.4 to be exact), and giving K-State another touchdown.
Probably on a D.J. Reed something or other, right?
Kickoff
Saturday, November 4 at 11:00am CT, Jones AT&T Stadium (60,454) in Lubbock, Texas.
Tickets
There are still quite a few seats available through the Tech box office, ranging from $55-85. The ready availability of tickets from the box office has crushed demand on the secondary market, where you can get upper level or end zone seats as low as $6, and there’s no shortage of those. You can get seats within the first 20 rows on the 40-yard line, K-State side, for $18 if you hurry, and for under $30 period. Average secondary ticket cost is right at $19.
What we’re saying is you can probably even afford to hop a flight, folks.
Television
FS1 with Kevin Fitzgerald and Evan Moore.
Radio
K-State Sports Network, with Wyatt Thompson, Stan Weber, and Matt Walters. The Tech broadcast with Brian Jensen, John Harris, and Chris Level will be available via satellite on Sirius channel 132 and XM 199, as well as radio stations all across Texas. Austin, even!
