Kansas State Wildcats quarterback Skylar Thompson won his second consecutive Newcomer of the Week award from the Big 12 Conference for the fourth-quarter comeback he engineered against Iowa State.

The honor brought the Wildcats’ tally for weekly awards to eight for the season, second-most in the conference. Other Wildcats to win weekly awards during the season were Byron Pringle (offensive PotW once), Kendall Adams and Duke Shelley (defensive PotW once each), Matthew McCrane (special teams PotW once), and D.J. Reed (special teams PotW twice).

Oklahoma led the conference with 13, followed by K-State (8), Iowa State (7), West Virginia and Texas Tech (6 each), Texas and TCU (4 each), Oklahoma State (3), Kansas (2), and Baylor (1).

But, you know how it is. K-State just doesn’t have the athletic talent to compete.
