Thursday Night Open Thread: Louisville vs NC State, Yankees-Indians, Patriots-Bucs

It’s the most wonderful time of someone’s year.

When the LULZ truly commenced.
When the LULZ truly commenced.

There’s not a lot going on tonight, but all of it is big big big BIG stuff. Our headline, obviously, involves two ranked teams slamming into one another on a Thursday night. The Louisville Cardinals, ranked 17th, head to Raleigh to take on the #24 N.C. State Wolfpack (7pm, ESPN).

The Pack announced their presence with a win at Florida State two weeks ago, and although their season-opening loss to South Carolina will sting even more if they emerge with a win tonight, NCSU may finally be onto something. Louisville, armed with reigning Heisman Trophy winner Lamar Jackson, has looked good in every game save one. Of course, losing to Clemson is nothing to be ashamed of.

In the NFL, we have an ugly, with the Patriots and Buccaneers going at it (7:25, CBS). And over on FS1, already underway, it’s “Go AL Central” as the Indians host the hated Yankees in Game 1 of their ALDS series.

Hang out and enjoy!
