Slate: Kansas Still Sucks

Kansas sucks at football...just not as badly as K-State once did. Plus Bill Snyder tries to explain why Alex Barnes only had 6 carries against OU. Plus notes on Big 12 Basketball media day.

NCAA Football: Oklahoma at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

Do you like sports? Do you like Kansas State sports, specifically? Do you like listening to former Kansas State players talk about Kansas State sports? If you answered yes to all these questions then you MUST stop what you’re doing and go listen to Luke Thompson and TB interview Nick Leckey for KU week’s version of Bring on the PodCats.

Kansas sucks. In everything. But if we want to get specific they suck the most at playing football. But even their current suckage at football pales in comparison to K-State’s past football trouble, according to Bill Snyder. (Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle)

Bill Snyder also said Kansas State takes what the defense gives when determining their in game play calling. Which doesn’t explain why Alex Barnes only had 6 total carries after ripping of a huge 75 yard TD run on the second play of the game....(Ken Corbitt, Capital Journal)

Men’s Basketball

Yesterday was Big 12 media day for hoopy buckets, and junior Dean Wade is again searching for consistency in his play this season. (Kevin Haskin, Capital Journal)

In searching for consistency, Dean also hopes to play bigger, as his primary focus this season will be on increasing his rebounding which averages just 4.8 per game during his Wildcat career. (Blair Kerkhoff, KC Star)

Finally, we end with a feel good story. Wildcat Victory celebrated its 90th anniversary last Saturday against OU, and the band honored the writers of the song Harry E. Erickson’s family with a framed article about the fight song. (Monica Brich, The Collegian)
