The unbeaten Wildcats will have to hand their opponent its first defeat of the season if they want to remain the unbeaten Wildcats. To make matters worse, said opponent may confuse K-State with their own arch-rival, because, you know... Wildcats.
This post also serves as your open thread for the Xavier/George Washington game. The winner of that game plays the winner of this one tomorrow afternoon at 4:30 CT; the losers play at 7pm.
The game
Kansas State (4-0, 0-0 Big 12) faces the Arizona State Sun Devils (4-0, 0-0 Pac-12) in the semifinal round of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational. The all-time series between the schools is tied at four wins apiece, but they haven’t met since an 84-80 overtime win by the Wildcats back in 1998.
The Sun Devils are led by Bobby Hurley, the former Duke standout. It’s been a slow build for Hurley in Tempe; a win tonight would bring his record at Arizona State to an even 35-35 over three seasons.
Odds
K-State is a 4-point favorite, with the over set at 153. That comes out to K-State winning 79-75, but OddsShark sees an entirely different and less pleasing result: an 83-71 Sun Devil victory.
Tipoff
Thursday, November 23 at 6:30pm CT, Orleans Arena (8,000) in Las Vegas, Nevada.
