Kansas State vs UMKC: How to Watch and Open Thread

The Wildcats host the Kangaroos tonight in Bramlage Coliseum

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Four-Kansas State vs Wake Forest Brian Spurlocki-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas State Wildcats men’s basketball team welcomes the UMKC Kanagroos to Bramlage Coliseum tonight in what will hopefully be a bit of a snoozer. To borrow from today’s Slate: KenPom ranks UMKC at No. 311 nationally. American was No. 286. If the teams play to form, this should not be a contest.

But, like last Friday, this is a great opportunity for the starters and main bench guys to gel, and for the young guys to get some much-needed minutes. We’ll be looking to see if Dean Wade and Makol Mawien can continue their hot starts, and if Cartier Diarra can continue his impressive performance off the bench. The biggest question is will Brian Patrick see any minutes tonight? The sophomore guard was limited with an ankle injury last week and was held out of action in the rout of American last Friday.

K-State and UMKC have played 18 times throughout their history, with the Cats holding a 17-1 overall margin and an 11-0 record at home. The last time these two teams met resulted in a 83-73 K-State victory back on Nov. 17th, 2014.

The game tonight tips off at 7pm CST, and there are plenty of tickets available, starting at $10 through the K-State ticket office.

The game will be available on FOX Sports Kansas City, K-StateHD.TV [free], and ESPN3 with Ben Boyle (play-by-play) and Stan Weber (analyst) on the call. (DirecTV 671-5 [HD] / Dish 445 or 412-33 / AT&T U-Verse 750 [SD] or 1750 [HD])

The game can be heard over-the-air on the K-State Sports Network with Wyatt Thompson (play-by-play) and Matt Walters (analyst) on the call (you can also listen online for free at TuneIn.com or at KStateSports.com). There is no satellite radio available tonight.
