It seems awfully early, but here we are on opening day of the 2017-18 basketball season. It’s a doubleheader at Bramlage tonight as both the women and men will kick off their campaigns.
The games
Women: Kansas State (0-0, 0-0 Big 12) hosts the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks (0-0, 0-0 Southland). Stephen F. Austin was once a pretty powerful program — indeed, they have over 100 more wins than K-State — and that’s why K-State only leads the all-time series 3-2. The teams haven’t met since the Ladyjacks won a 23-point victory in Dallas... way back in 1987.
Men: Kansas State (0-0, 0-0 Big 12) hosts the American Eagles (0-0, 0-0 Patriot). It’s the first meeting between the two schools.
Odds
There is no line on either game.
Tipoff
Women: Friday, November 10 at 5:30pm CT, Bramlage Coliseum (12,528) in Manhattan, Kansas. The men’s game will tip off at 8:10pm, or 30 minutes after the women’s game ends, whichever is later.
Tickets
$10 GA, $30 for 4, $5 each for groups of 12 or more. Chairbacks are $20.
Television
Men’s game airs on FOX Sports Kansas City with Ben Boyle and Stan Weber.
Radio
K-State Sports Network, with Brian Smoller and Shalin Klein on the women’s game and Wyatt Thompson and Matt Walters on the men’s.
