Now that all of K-State’s current commits for the 2017 football season are finally playing games, it’s time to take a look around the country at how the young men and their high school programs are faring in 2016.

We will do our best to keep these as updated as possible, but not every school or area gets covered the same way. And not every local paper, school, or service even puts stats online (what do they think it is, 1996? Geez)

So lets see how our (potential) future Wildcats are doing so far.

Ben Adler, OL, Trinity Academy, Wichita, KS -- Alder helped make his new QB’s night a memorable one, as Wichita Trinity picked up a game one victory over Cheney. His running backs also managed 81 and 76 yards behind his blocking, and Alder made his presence known on the defensive side as well.

Harrison Creed, OL, Ulysses, Ulysses, KS -- 4A-I Ulysses may have lost a standout running back (to K-State), but kept right on rolling. Creed helped lead his team to a 30-13 win over 5A Liberal, and helped allow the Tigers to amass 370 yards rushing.

Wyatt Hubert, DE, Shawnee Heights, Tecumseh, KS -- Shawnee Heights had a tough opening night against Manhattan, falling 49-13. The T-Birds had no answers for the Indian offense, and gave up over 240 yards rushing and 138 yards passing to the starters.

Aidan Mills, OL/DL, Newton, Newton, KS -- The Railers came in to 2016 looking to improve on a 1-8 2015 campaign but did not get their season off to a great start, falling to Maize 49-27. The road doesn’t get any easier, as Newton hosts Hutchinson on September 9th.

Josh Rivas, OL, Hutchinson, Hutchinson, KS -- Rivas helped lead the Salthawks to a season opening victory over Olathe East, opening holes to allow Hutch to rush for 223 yards and three touchdowns in the 41-13 victory.

Sammy Wheeler, QB, St. James Academy, Lenexa, KS -- Fourth-ranked St. James Academy lost their opening night game on the road against defending 5A state champions, and third-ranked, Mill Valley. Wheeler threw for 125 yards and tossed two picks in the loss.

Joshua Brown, DB, Langston Hughes, Fairburn, GA -- Langston Hughes is 2-1 on the season, and Brown has notched at least 11 tackles, and is the kick returner for the Panthers.

Eli Huggins, DT, West Forsyth, Cumming, GA -- West Forsyth is currently 1-1 on the season.

Drew Wiley, DT, Vinton-Shellsburg, Vinton, IA -- The Vikings are currently 1-1 on the season, winning their opener 33-15, but were shut out 50-0 in their game two loss.

Bill Kuduk, OL, Marist, Chicago, IL -- Marist HS is currently 1-1 on the season. Kuduk is starting LT for the RedHawks. No stats are available for their latest game.

Anthony Payne, DE, Raymore-Peculiar, Peculiar, MO -- Ray-Pec is currently 3-0 on the season, and Payne has notched at least 9 tackles and three sacks on the season.

Dewayne Betts, QB, KIPP Academy, Memphis, TN -- KIPP Academy has had a rough start to the 2016 season, losing their first three games, including an opening game shutout loss, before coming back and winning their fourth game 46-0. Betts accounted for 114 total yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

Bernard Goodwater, RB, Carter, Dallas, TX -- Dallas Carter is currently 2-0 on the season. No stats are available from either victory.
