The Longhorn hype machine is at full throttle now as Texas got even with Notre Dame with a thrilling overtime win in Austin last night. It was definitely a statement, and I think we can all acknowledge that Texas is now relevant again.
At the same time, they don’t seem to have much of a defense, so the odds of them escaping Manhappiness with a win later in the year seem slim.
Tonight, Week One finally comes to a close as Ole Miss faces Florida State in a game where nobody neutral can root for either team. Fun times.
On the homefront, K-State soccer got back to .500 (2-2-2) with a 1-0 win over Nebraska-Omaha. In the 63rd minute, Dora Gallo scored her second goal of the season on a cross into the center of the box from teammate Laramie Hall. Tony Boone of the Omaha World-Herald has alternate coverage.
Next up for the Cats: another weekend roadie, this time in Arkansas. Friday they’ll be in Conway to face Central Arkansas, and they’ll visit the capital on Sunday for a game against UALR.
