K-State MBB: Nigel Shadd Verbally Commits

3-star power forward comes from Chandler, AZ

NCAA Basketball: Mississippi at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

Nigel Shadd, a 3-star power forward recruit out of Tri-City Christian Academy in Chandler, Arizona, announced a verbal commitment Sunday night to join the K-State men’s basketball team.

According to maxpreps.com, Shadd averaged 18.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 3.9 blocks per game as a junior.

High school highlights can be deceiving - they’re against high school competition, and they’re highlights - but Shadd looks to be a true back-to-the-basket, post-up power forward in this highlight video:

You can see a pretty sweet high-top game in that video as well. Am I talking about the hair or the bright blue shoes? I’ll leave that to you to decide.

According to scout.com, Shadd also had scholarship offers from Cal State Fullerton, Grand Canyon, Northern Colorado, Texas Rio Grande Valley and Weber State. He is set to be part of the class of 2017.

Shadd’s commitment was first reported by Nigel Shadd on Twitter, @45__nation.
