College Football Week 4 TV/Streaming Schedule

It’s not a great week, but there are still a few crevices worth exploring.

East Carolina continues their quest for an ACC championship!
East Carolina continues their quest for an ACC championship!
James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

More and more teams swing into the gauntlet of conference play this weekend as September draws to a college football conclusion (well, except for a smattering of games next Thursday and Friday, that is).

As always, our schedule includes all FBS games plus all other games either being broadcast on nationally-available networks on on the ESPN3 platform. We mention this early this week rather than at the end so that we can get the non-FBS games out of the way quickly. Normally, we’d draw your attention to some big FCS showdown, but there really aren’t any this week; the most prominent game there is #23 Colgate at #7 Richmond. The biggest undercard brawl that you can actually watch this week is down in D-II, where #5 Ashland visits #7 Ferris State in a huge GLIAC contest. Last year the two teams dodged one another in conference play, and both ended the regular season with 10-0 records before they were both bounced out of the D-II playoffs on consecutive weeks by Grand Valley State. Should be a hoot. That game airs on ASN affiliates, and on NCAA’s own video platform.

And now, onto the main showcase. The morning gauntlet includes two big contests as Wisconsin visits Michigan State and Georgia travels to Ole Miss. You might also have some interest in Florida State at South Florida, where another Big 12 suitor hopes to make a big, big splash. Starting a half-hour later, East Carolina will try to stretch their ACC winning streak to seven games as they head to Blacksburg to take on Virginia Tech.

The mid-afternoon window features the over-hyped disaster that will be Florida at Tennessee. BYU visits West Virginia as well, and both of our featured non-FBS games are also at 2:30. It is not a strong window, so it may actually be worth it to you to do some intense channel-flipping.

A few potentially interesting games slide into the gap between the 2:30 and evening games: Vanderbilt visits Western Kentucky, which is interesting because I think most people expect the Toppers to knock off the SEC team here, and Colorado at Oregon, where we’ll see whether the vastly improved Buffaloes are vastly improved enough. And then there’s LSU/Auburn, which might be high comedy for all we know at this point.

Evening, of course, brings us Missouri State at K-State on KStateHD.TV. For those who can’t bring yourselves to pay money to watch the Wildcats steamroll an FCS opponent, however, we’ve got a battle of unbeaten G5 teams as Georgia Southern visits Western Michigan, Oklahoma State at Baylor, and Stanford at UCLA. Or you could see just what sort of illegal things Louisville will do to Marshall, if you’re so inclined.

The final wave starts at 8pm with Arkansas/Texas A&M at Jerryworld, after which you get your usual dose of #Pac12AfterDark. Your Saturday ends, most likely, in one of two ways: hitting that sweet, sweet football crack pipe for all it’s worth, or saying to hell with it and getting an early snooze.

And with that, here’s your schedule. This is your general open thread for the day, as well.
