Something in the water in south-central Missouri?

NCAA Football: Florida Atlantic at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

Aside from the Slate, yesterday was pretty quiet at Bring on the Cats. Sorry about that. At least you’ll get your weekly recruiting prep update later today.

Football

There’s some confidence coming out of the locker room in Springfield, MO (or maybe it’s just something in the water), as the Bears think they can be the next Missouri Valley school to upset a Power 5 opponent (Jim Connell, Springfield News-Leader).

Back in the real world Kansas, Kellis Robinett (via the Star) has his take on Dalton Risner’s move to right tackle.

Volleyball

The VolleyCats are on fire right now. The Cats have now won 10 straight after taking down Iowa State in 4 sets last night to open conference play. The #23 VolleyCats will head to Waco, TX this weekend to take on Baylor on Sunday afternoon.

Basketball

SBNation Rutgers blog On The Banks takes a look at their upcoming men’s basketball season, and in particular one of their most important transfers, former K-State guard Nigel Johnson.

Other

The K-State Collegian took the opportunity last Saturday to spend the day with The Pride of Wildcatland, who was hot, even when the team was not. For those of you who have never been able to experience it (there are a few of us around here who have), you can check out how the marching feature, a pre-game pep rally, and a touchdown look through the eyes of The Pride.
