Bob Thompson: Fan of The Week

Meet Bob Thompson, a passionate Kansas State fan from Palmer, Alaska.

Why are you proud to be a Wildcat?

I am proud to be a Wildcat because it is in my blood. My family's legacy goes back 4 generations to my grandfather graduating from KSAC in 1920. The legacy includes Mother and Father, all siblings, and all spouses, and a nephew.

What is your favorite game day tradition?

Living in Alaska my game day tradition begins with tuning in Wyatt Thompson and Stan Weber on the internet (we are too remote for HD TV) with the pregame show followed by pacing the room until the Cats pull off the win, and then catching the postgame presser with Coach Snyder or Weber.

Who is your favorite K-State player of past or present in any sport?

This is the hardest question for me because there are so many favorites. So, I'll just pick one. How about Rolando Blackman? I recall him hitting the jumper from the corner to defeat #1 seed Oregon State in the Western Regional in 1981. I dropped my tools (I was installing cabinets in my new home) and started jumping and running through the house.
