The light at the end of the tunnel grows brighter everyday as we are just over a month away from Real Life FootballTM. Yesterday at Bring on the Cats, BracketCat continued his yoemans work of bringing us the countdown with #37 Tyler White. Gracey also brough us news of another Wildcat for the defensive trenches, as Drew Wiley announced his commitment to K-State.. Be sure and check back later today as she gets the profile up for recruit number 12, QB Sammy Wheeler.
Speaking of recruiting, and Mr. Wheeler, it seems as though the area newspeople have started to take recruiting more seriously. The KC Star's Sam McDowell put out stories for the commitments of Anthony Payne and Sammy Wheeler. Scout.com also has a profile of Mr. Payne (complete with auto-play video).
Out in Seattle, Tyler Lockett is still good for headlines. Greg Bell at The News Tribune took a look at Lockett's rise to the brink of superstardom. Over at ESPN, Brandon Chatmon continued his summer series by looking at Big 12 passing efficiency, and even with the sub-par effort in 2015 the Cats still come out really high on the list.
On Tuesday, Brian Rohleder, Austin Budke, and Zach Winter were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court for the 2015-16 season for their academic excellence last season. K-State Sports also announced that in the lead-up to their overseas trip, the men's basketball team will hold an open practice on August 6th; the event will begin at 2:30pm and will be open to the public.
Last but certainly not least, the K-State soccer team will host two scrimmages in August. The first will be the Purple/White scrimmage on Saturday, August 6, and the second will welcome in Washburn on Tuesday, August 16. Both scrimmages are scheduled for a 7 p.m., start.
Also, this happened:
@Jake_Trotter with former Husker Scott Frost at the helm they'll soon be doing great things.
