Strong Comeback Falls Short

We again patiently await being able to vote tomorrow for our own Purple and Black squad (you can find a GoFundMe here to assist them in their endeavors) for TBT-The Basketball Tournament; and be sure to have BOTC up tomorrow, as we will be providing more details as soon as they are available. #EMAW

Jon provided our only new content between Slates with his breakdown of action last night in the tournaments going on around the country.

>One night after drubbing the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks 11-3, the Cats were ousted in extra-innings by the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 14-10. The Eagles jumped out to an early 8-3 lead, but the BatCats came alive in the 6th & 7th innings posting 7 unanswered runs to take an 10-8 lead. ORU notched two runs in the top of the 9th, and the Cats would-be winning run in the bottom of the 10th was tagged-out at the plate. The Cats have now lost eight of their last nine, and will be facing a stiff challenge to snap that streak in Lubbock against a Texas Tech squad ranked No. 22 in the country coming off a loss that snapped a 5-game win streak. Included in that streak was a sweep of the Oklahoma Sooners last weekend. Levi MaVorhis will take the mound Friday night.

Since you need something good in your life, check out the highlight video of the Wildcats 1958-59 season (Part One and Part Two), that is still the best regular season in K-State basketball history (14-0 in the Big 8 is no easy feat). (h/t to reader daaitoulaam for the links)
