Two more champions are crowned, and the Big 12 is in the Final Four.

Yeah, you celebrate, Buddy.

Blowouts were largely the order of the day on Saturday, as only three of the ten college games on the docket were decided by single digits. On the one hand, you had the UConn women utterly humiliating Mississippi State, leading the game 84-20 after three quarters. (No, that is not a typo.) On the other, you had the WBI championship game, where Louisiana-Lafayette repeated as champs following a thrilling double-overtime clash with Weber State.

The closest game in the women's Sweet Sixteen last night was the Longhorns' win over UCLA; and of course Villanova scraped out a five-point win over Kansas, costing us $159,000.

On the other hand, the Oklahoma-Oregon game was a treat to watch even though it was a blowout. Buddy Hield, once again, just went off. Hield hit 8 three-pointers and poured in 37 points, making complaints about all the turnovers he was making moot. Hield is now three points shy of the Big 12 career points record held by Baylor's LaceDarius Dunn.

The other decided championship last night represented yet another feather in the cap of basketball in the state of South Dakota this March. Both the men and women from South Dakota State acquitted themselves well in the NCAA tournament, with the men giving Maryland a run and the women upsetting Miami before very nearly doing the same to Stanford. The South Dakota women are still alive and kicking in the WNIT. And now, for the first time in school history, the Augustana Vikings are NCAA champs, taking the Division II men's title over Lincoln Memorial.

Starting today, we'll stop splitting the men's and women's results and schedules as the tables aren't so unwieldy. With our countdown now at 36 (or 37) games remaining in the college basketball season, last night's results:

Today's Schedule

It's the other half of the Elite Eight, the horrific and disgusting all-ACC affair nobody wanted or deserved. The CIT semifinals are also on tap, finally moving to your television after being trapped in streaming land for the first few rounds. The women's Elite Eight starts up, with today's games featuring the upset kids; a pair of 4-7 matchups. And, speaking of South Dakota, they'll be hosting the first quarterfinal game in the WNIT.
