AP All-Big 12 Team Announced

New, 4 comments

More congratulations are in order for Kansas State players and their families as the Associated Press announced their All-Big 12 Team this morning.

Named to the Associated Press All-Big 12 Team:

First Team

Terrale Johnson

Will Geary

Elijah Lee

Jordan Willis

Second Team

Dalton Risner

D.J. Reed

Jordan Willis, defensive end, has been named the Associated Press Big 12 Defensive Player of the year. While his talent is no surprise to Kansas State fans, Willis showed up week after week to prove himself worthy of this title. Before the season even started Willis was named in the 2016 Preseason All-Big 12 list as an explosive player to pay attention to this season.

Willis put up incredible numbers for the season with 11.5 sacks (tied for the most in Kansas State history in a single season), 16.5 tackles-for-loss and 48 total tackles. Beyond the numbers, Willis is a leader on and off the field in his last year playing under Coach Snyder. The game changing edge rushing Willis helped boost Kansas State to the top of the defensive rankings in the early weeks of the season.

Once again, congratulations for all the hard work paying off for the Wildcats this season!
