The regular season Big 12 power rankings are out, and Kansas State (picked by the media to finish 8th in the pre-season) checks in at number 4. Maybe next season the media will finally learn their lesson. (Max Olson, ESPN.com)

Bowl prep begins as soon as opponents are announced, and both the Wildcats and Aggies have started scouting one another. (Ken Corbitt, Capital Journal)

Finally, a few thoughts lingered from Saturdays win over TCU. (Kellis Robinett, Wichita Eagle.)

Tonight K-State will take on Prairie View A&M at 7:10 pm. The Wildcats will have a shot at securing win #400 for Bruce Weber. (Kstatesports.com)

Consistency is a key this season for the Wildcats, and so far Barry Brown has shown plenty of consistency, averaging 14.7 points through the first seven games. (Ken Corbitt, Capital Journal)

Women’s Basketball

Peyton Williams was named the Big 12’s co-Freshman of the Week. It’s the second such honor for Williams who is averaging 5.6 points and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting nearly 50% from the field. (wibw.com)

Miscellaneous

I believe most readers of Bring on the Cat’s believe the 2025 Master Plan is a great step forward for the university and one which should continue under new President Richard Meyers. Apparently, that belief is not shared by everyone as Emily Porter believes the 2025 plan is bad because of too much construction and an emphasis on research. (Emily Porter, The Collegian)
