Bring on the PodCats with ODB's Matthew Tennant

Along with an analysis of Saturday's game, we delved deep into all the issues going on at Baylor after their appalling offseason scandal.

NCAA Football: Baylor at Oklahoma
Can Kansas State stop a Baylor offense led by a true freshman QB this year?
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Kansas State and Baylor will meet this Saturday morning in a football game that means relatively little outside of Manhattan and Waco, particularly compared to recent meetings of this series. Nonetheless, Derek and I decided to spend some time talking with Matt Tennant from Our Daily Bears (Jordan in real life) about whether Zach Smith can solve the K-State defense, the importance of the run game for both teams and the potential neutralization of the Wildcats' pass rush.

Of course, it's almost impossible to talk about Baylor this year without mentioning everything that's happening off the field, so we had an enlightening conversation regarding Jordan's conflicted feelings and his concerns with how the university is handling the situation. Like most of us, he cringes every time Bears coaches speak up in support of Art Briles or fans sell T-Shirts with the #CAB hashtag. At the same time, he reminded us Baylor is so much more than the home of a sexual assault scandal to him and many others, so he's hoping the university can do everything it can to help the victims and move forward as a leader in the fight against sexual assault.

Don't forget to check out all the great Baylor coverage, including Jordan's futbol and football stories, at Our Daily Bears, and you can follow him on Twitter at @DerBaylorBaer.
