College Football Week 6 TV and Streaming Schedule

Even though one high-profile game is missing from the schedule today thanks to mother nature, there’s still quite a bit of action to take in to end this first full week of October. Because we’re just a wee bit late here, one game’s already kicked off as Cincinnati gets an early start in Connecticut.

The morning window is grotesquely weak thanks to the controversial cancellation of LSU-Florida. Oklahoma-Texas is the marquee matchup, but in 2016 that’s a pretty sorry state of affairs. Iowa-Minnesota may be more worth your time. Or, if you’re so inclined, you could watch Notre Dame suffer the humiliation of losing to North Carolina State... or maybe see just how many moral crimes TCU will commit against Kansas.

There’s not even any undercard action of real interest in the early window unless you just want to check out some Ivy League football.

As we roll into afternoon, the day may really start at 2:00 as Houston visits Navy and — nobody has ever said this before — Eastern Michigan hosts Toledo in a critical MAC contest. The biggest FCS game of the week is on ESPN3 at the same time, but #15 vs #23 isn’t exactly a colossal conflict.

2:30 brings us a true top-ten matchup as Tennessee heads to College Station. Virginia Tech and North Carolina are both ranked, and they also kickoff at the same time. A half-hour later, we get another chance to see how real Colorado is as they invade Trojan Territory to face a schizophrenic USC squad.

As dinner approaches, Western Michigan places their perfect record on the line against a Northern Illinois team which is not good this year, but is still Northern Illinois. A half-hour later, Alabama drops in on Arkansas, and of course K-State kicks off against Texas Tech. At 7, Florida State visits Miami and the biggest D-II game of the week — #7 Midwestern State at #4 Texas A&M-Commerce — will be available on ESPN3.

Late night features your usual selection of inscrutable MWC and Pac-12 matchups, the most likely of which to entertain should be Arizona-Utah.

Lastly, for those of you who turn your nose up at the NFL, there are two Sunday games thanks to Hurricane Matthew. Of course, neither of them will be any good, but that’s the price you pay.

We’ve changed our format just a hair here; as well as all games televised on nationally-available cable networks and the usual raft of games available on ESPN3, we’ve added in all games which fit the basic criteria of “being available on my Roku” — i.e., games broadcast on free platforms.
