College Football Week Nine Saturday TV/Streaming Schedule

As has become our practice here in the wheat fields, K-State’s game is the obvious choice in the morning window. Really, Oklahoma fans need to be quiet about this issue. Other morning games of note include Michigan/Sparty, West Virginia/Oklahoma State, and down in FCS a vitally important Patriot League clash between Fordham and Lehigh.

As we swing into the afternoon, there’s another big title-relevant FCS game at 1:00 as Weber State faces North Dakota for at least a piece of first place in the Big Sky. Then we slide into the One True Timeslot, where things get really fun.

Washington visits Utah in what’s very possibly a preview of the Pac-12 title game. Baylor faces Texas, and even non-Longhorns who want to see Charlie Strong fired just for schadenfreude purposes will be rooting for UT just because. The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party is also in gear today, and just for the sake of nostalgia we’ve got Catholics vs. Convicts on tap too. But for some of you, the real highlight of the 2:30 window will be this week’s game of the week on the NCAA Video streaming service: Pittsburg State at Northwest Missouri State. (Go Gorillas.)

Evening starts with three important games: Nebraska/Wisconsin, Boise/Wyoming, and down in FCS North Dakota State/Northern Iowa. Another Kansas City area team which doesn’t get much video exposure also plays at 6pm on ESPN3: Bill Snyder’s alma mater, William Jewell, visits Indianapolis. (Sadly, the Cardinals are 0-8, and perennial playoff team UIndy is only 3-5, so caveat emptor.)

At 7, it’s all about Clemson/Florida State, right? Tulsa/Memphis is also a reasonable option if you’re just not that into the ACC. The SEC games are sort of underwhelming, although you may be interested in watching Mississippi blow a second-half lead at home to Auburn just for fun.

Finally, the evening lurches to a close with... not much. The Dread Pirate will try to keep Washington State unbeaten in the Pac 12, while Stanford will try to keep Arizona winless in conference play. The traditional nightcap at Hawai’i is only on pay-per-view, so you can be asleep by 1:30 tonight. Huzzah!
