You'll have to wipe the sleep from your eyes, kids. It's a morning tipoff against a ranked team, serving as a prelude to today's Liberty Bowl festivities. And since the Pride is in Memphis for the bowl game, the Alumni Band -- led by our own JT Van Gilder! -- will be sitting in at Bramlage.
MOONSHINE
The game: Kansas State hosts the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Big 12 season opener. The all-time series is tied at 4 wins apiece, with the Wildcats winning two of three in Manhattan. Bruce Weber is 3-3 against West Virginia, while our old friend Bob Huggins is 4-3 against K-State. Weber and Huggins have met head-to-head on nine occasions, with Weber coming out on top five times.
Odds: The Mountaineers are four-point favorites, with the total at 135.5. That's an expected outcome of 70-66 West Virginia.
Tickets: Tickets are available at the gate for $25, $50 for chairbacks.
Television: ESPU at 11am CT with Dave Armstrong and Kevin Lehman.
Radio: K-State Sports Network, with Brian Smoller and Schyler Thomas filling in for Wyatt and Stan due to the bowl game. Also available on satellite on Sirius 145/XM 199.
Special note: due to the timing of events, most K-State Sports Network affiliates will be carrying the basketball game against West Virginia until 12:30 CT, then switch over to the football pre-game show. However, six stations will remain with the basketball game until its conclusion: 1510 AM and 99.3 FM in Kansas City, KMAN 1350 in Manhattan, 1490 AM in Topeka, 1150 AM in Salina, and 1480 AM in Wichita. For listeners of those stations who want to catch the football pre-game, it will be available at KStateHD.tv; for listeners of all other affiliates, the remainder of the basketball game can be heard there; Sirius/XM will also remain with the basketball game until its conclusion.
Online: Video streaming via WatchESPN. Audio streaming and live stats at Gamecenter.
