A second Wildcat has announced his future plans on Twitter this evening, as Boston Stiverson has earned the chance to join the Dallas Cowboys, per his Twitter feed:
I'm gonna be a cowboy! Thank you to Dallas for this opportunity and I am so excited to get started #AmericasTeam #CowboysNation
— boston stiverson (@BostonStiverson) April 30, 2016
Stiverson was relatively unheralded compared to linemates B.J. Finney, Cornelius Lucas, Tavon Rooks, all of whom preceded him in earning NFL gigs, as well as fellow 2016 NFL rookie Cody Whitehair. Yet he was still an integral part of the Wildcat line during his Kansas State career, and his absence when injured was visibly apparent. His recovery from a compound fracture of his leg suffered late in K-State's Alamo Bowl loss to UCLA after the 2014 season was nothing short of miraculous; he missed spring practice, but was back in the starting lineup before the end of September.
Stiverson, from Andover, Kansas, twice earned honorable mention All-Big 12 honors, lining up at guard next to Whitehair on the left side of the Wildcat line. His signing with Dallas is the final jewel in a fantastic comeback, and a well-deserved reward.
