Jordan Djvan Noil (b. April 20, 1995) was a late junior college pickup who did not sign until Feb. 9, but still arrived at K-State in time for spring drills. He played for the White team in the spring game and collected five solo tackles.
Noil signed with Appalachian State out of high school as a wide receiver, ostensibly because a friend played there, and redshirted the 2014 season for the Mountaineers. He then elected to enroll at Hutchinson Community College.
He moved to defensive back in his redshirt freshman year for the Blue Dragons under head coach Rion Rhoades.
Noil saw action in 11 games last year, recording 44 tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions and four pass breakups. He carded a season-high 10 tackles against Dodge City Community College, while he had seven stops the next week against Coffeyville. He returned one of his interceptions 13 yards at Highland Community College.
He also proved to be something of a threat on special teams, returning five punts on the year for 34 yards.
Prior to his circuitous journey that ended at Kansas State, Noil played under head coach Keith Maloof at Norcross High School. He was rated as one of the top 20 safeties in the state of Georgia in the class of 2014 by Scout.com.
Noil earned second-team Georgia 7-AAAAAA All-Region accolades as a senior. He totaled 103 tackles, two tackles for loss, 10 interceptions, 20 passes defended and three fumble recoveries during his final two prep campaigns.
He also recorded 267 interception-return yards and returned an interception 26 yards for a touchdown as a senior.
Noil helped to lead the Blue Devils to a 29-2 overall record, and back-to-back Georgia Class AAAAAA state championships in 2012 and 2013. Norcross finished ranked No. 16 nationally following his junior season in 2012, when he earned all-county accolades. Noil received offers from K-State and Maryland, as well as Appalachian State.
