Corey Xavier Sutton (b. Oct. 30, 1997) is a tall and athletic receiver who graduated high school early and enrolled at K-State in January. He will compete for playing time as a true freshman after starting for White in the spring game.
Sutton played his senior season under head coach Michael Palmieri at Mallard Creek High School, where he was rated the 32nd-best player in the state of North Carolina by ESPN, while he was ranked No. 38 by Rivals.com.
He helped the Mavericks to earn a 14-1 record, including a 49-6 win in the Class 4AA state championship game.
Sutton previously played at Hough High School under Miles Aldridge, catching 41 passes for 584 yards and five touchdowns. He helped the Huskies earn a 10-4 record with a state semifinal finish in North Carolina’s Class 4AA.
He had three catches for 85 yards, including a nifty 33-yard touchdown thrown by Joe Hubener, in the spring game, leading the White team in total all-purpose yardage. You can watch Sutton's high school highlights below:
