20 DAYS TO 2016 KICKOFF: Javier Craft

In which BracketCat counts down the 20th day until the 2016 kickoff with a profile of defensive back Javier Craft.

Javier Craft comes to K-State with some surprising accolades, for being a walk-on. Might he follow in the footsteps of Dylan Schellenberg, who eventually earned a scholarship and a starting position?

Status: Walk-On

Javier Craft is a walk-on defensive back from Cherry Creek High School with good bloodlines who is a bit of a steal. He had a few offers from Division II and FCS schools, such as Northern Colorado.

Craft's father played nine years in the NFL. In fact, he actually played for Tom Hayes with the New Orleans Saints.

Those who have watched his high school highlights say Craft looks like he was made to play cornerback. He is very fluid and natural, although his speed needs some improvement. You can watch those highlights here.

Still, Craft was the best cover corner in Colorado, opined one Scout.com writer, and played on a very good Cherry Creek squad that is one of the top programs in Colorado. It seems he might have been slightly under-recruited.
