#39 Austin Katsorelos |
Position: Fullback Previous College: None Projection: Second-String Status: Preferred Walk-On |
Austin Katsorelos (b. July 13, 1993) is an in-state walk-on who finally saw his first career action in 2015 as a junior after redshirting in 2012, followed by not seeing any game action in either the 2013 or 2014 seasons.
Katsorelos saw time in four games — against Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas and West Virginia — as a significant part of K-State’s short-yardage and goal-line packages. He will continue to add support on offense and special teams.
Prior to backing up Winston Dimel, Katsorelos lettered two years at Blue Valley High School under Eric Driskell.
Katsorelos led the Tigers to a league and district championship in 2011, and he was named a second-team all-league tight end. He had 11 receptions for 152 yards and four touchdowns as a senior.
He caught 11 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns as a junior in 2010, and was selected to play in the 2012 Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. He also played baseball.
