42 DAYS TO 2016 KICKOFF: Kade True

In which BracketCat counts down the 42nd day until the 2016 kickoff with a profile of fullback Kade True.

The last K-State fullback to wear No. 42 was big ol' Victor Mann. I don't think Kade True is likely to replicate one-third of the famed "Nick, Vic and Thick" trio anytime soon.

Projection: Scout Team

Status: Walk-On

Kade True (b. June 14, 1995) is a walk-on linebacker-turned-fullback who prepped at Salina High School Central under head coach Michael Hall and redshirted in 2013.

He did not see any game action in 2014 or 2015 as a member of the scout team, nor is he likely to this season after switching positions in the spring. Both he and Konnor Cook played for the White team, but I give the edge to Cook.

A three-year letter-winner at linebacker who earned all-county and all-league honors as both a junior and a senior in high school, True also was named a first-team all-state performer as a senior.

He recorded 81 tackles, including 21 for loss, and two sacks as a senior in 2012, despite playing in only seven games, and also was the 2013 Kansas Class 5A runner-up in wrestling.
