Michigan State achieved a rare feat this week, blazing upward three spots to claim the throne despite being ranked first on only one of the Bring On The Cats Top 25 Poll's 10 ballots.
This phenomenon is due mainly to the fact that almost all of our voters agree that the Spartans are in the top three, while several of us penalized the Buckeyes heavily for a lackluster performance against Northern Illinois.
Predictably, Ole Miss and LSU were big upward movers after each posted an impressive conference win last week.
I have no explanation for how Oklahoma State was able to rise that high. It certainly wasn't because of my ballot.
Further down, a pair of Pac-12 teams are tied for 17th, although it will surprise nobody if both manage to lose tonight, and an ex-Big 12 team is tied for 21st with the team that replaced its traitorous self.
Alabama's precipitous fall is due mainly to the presence in the balloting of resume voters such as myself and Jon Morse, who do not rank teams with losses at this early interval. Two other voters agreed with our reasoning.
The newest poll appears below:
As always, your voters are myself, EMAW 4 Ever, Jon Morse, JT VanGilder, Luke Thompson, nugget1224, PurpleBrunette, wildcat00 and KSUEMAW!
