Mac Stevenson believes the Jayhawks only have upside under new coach David Beaty. Personally, while I'm not sure he'll be worse than his predecessors, I think Beaty can at least continue the status quo. Which is almost good enough to promise at least one victory per year.
Jason Sager at heartlandcollegesports.com, has a nice story about the Manhattan Catbackers organization. Led by Charlotte Schartz, the organization has donated to various teams and causes including the marching band, cheer squad, and even Hale Library.
This week begins the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and the Women's squad is looking for their first top-10 finish since 2002. Entering the event Kansas State ranked 10th in the country. 10 competitors will compete for the Women including Akela Jones who will compete in the high jump, heptathalon, and run as part of the 4x400 meter relay squad.
