Kansas State to build a new soccer field!

11

On Monday, Kansas State announced plans to build a soccer specific stadium just south of Tointon Family Stadium. The new facility will be the primary host of Kansas State's home soccer matches beginning in 2016, though some could be played at old Memorial Stadium. The facility will also serve as outdoor practice fields for the football team when not in use for soccer. The field will be a natural grass bermuda, which may have played a role in the decision to build a new stadium, since Memorial field is artificial turf and many soccer players/coaches prefer grass to turf. The cost for the new stadium will be paid for via revenue from the Athletic Department.
